The waves may rage, and the winds may roar,
海浪汹涌，狂风咆哮，
But he fears not wreck, nor need;
但他并不担心会遭遇海难，也无需多虑；
For he rides the sea, in its stormy strength,
因为他骑乘在大海之上，在它狂暴的劲道中，
As a strong man rides his steed.
像一位壮士骑着骏马。
O the white sea-gull, the bold sea-gull,
啊，勇敢的白色海鸥，
He makes on the shore his nest,
他在岸边筑巢，
And he tries what the inland fields may be;

But he loveth the sea the best!

And away from land, a thousand leagues,

He goes 'mid surging foam; —

What matter to him is land or shore,

For the sea is his truest home!
