当意外情况发生，从而导致原定的计划不能照常实施时，当事人应该第一时间给对方打电话或通过其他方式通知对方。

通知对方时不能只是简单地告诉对方自己打算改变计划，还应将缘由告知对方。并就新的约会时间和地点等信息与对方进行商定和确认。对于改变计划给对方带来的影响应该向对方道歉。
