1. 文中语法解析

（1）there is a good chance 很可能

由there be构成的一些固定句型在英语中很常用，需很好地掌握。常见的有：

There is no point/sense (in) + v-ing 没道理，毫无意义

There is no use (in) + v-ing 毫无用处

There is no need to do 没有必要做……

There is no doubt that... 毫无疑问……

There is a (good) chance that... （很）有可能发生某事

There is no/little chance that... 不（太）可能发生某事

There is no doing sth 不可能，无法做

例如：

There is no use in hiding that fact from him．对他隐瞒那个事实没什么用。

There is a good chance that we will see less violence and fewer wars. 很可能将来暴力和战争会变少。

There is no point in arguing further．再争下去也没用。

Is there any point in going on？有必要再继续下去吗？

There was no sense in making a child suffer like that．让一个孩子受那样的苦是毫无道理的。

There was no need for him to remain in Shanghai．他没有必要再留在上海。

There is no doubt that Taiwan is part of China. 毫无疑问台湾是中国领土的一部分。

There was no mistaking his intentions this time．这回不可能看错他的意图。

Once let this fellow start talking，there was no stopping him．一旦让这个家伙谈起来，就无法让他停下来了。

（2）due to 因为

due to 有很多意思类似的词组，例如 as a result of, because of, thanks to 等，现在我们来区分一下这几组词组的不同用法：

result in 导致, 结果是

例句：The bad weather resulted in the flight delay.

坏天气导致了航班迟误。

result of 结果

例句：The result of doing so would only cause misery.

这样做的结果只能导致灾难。

as a result of 作为……的结果

例句：A nation can become wiser and stronger as a result of change.

一个民族可能因变革而更精明更强大。

due to 因为；由于

例句：Her success was in part due to luck.

她的成功一部分是由于运气。

because of 因为；为了……缘故

例句：He lost his job because of in-competence.

因为不能胜任，他失掉了职位。

thanks to 由于；多亏

例句：Thanks to the English language，we can learn a lot from other countries．

由于英语这门语言，我们能从其他国家学到很多东西。

if possible 如果有可能的话

例句：If possible, please sit at the kitchen table to read it.

如果可能的话，请坐在厨房的餐桌旁读这封信。
