439　listen, hear, hear of, hear from和sound

1　listen 指有意识地倾听，表示“听”这一动作，但不一定听见什么；hear 指“听见，听到”，不一定是有意识地听，强调听的结果。listen 是不及物动词，后跟宾语时要用listen to 结构；hear 是及物动词，后直接跟名词或代词作宾语。

She listened but heard nothing. 她注意听了，但什么也没听见。

They are listening to the man but they can't hear him clearly. 他们在听那人讲话，但却听不清楚。

I heard a loud noise. 我听见一声巨响。

I listen to her playing a piece of Chopin on the piano. 我倾听她用钢琴弹奏肖邦的一首曲子。

提示

listen和hear还有相似的用法，表示有意识地“听，倾听”。

I listen to/hear the 7 o'clock news every morning. 我每天早晨都听7点钟的新闻。

You'd better listen to/hear what they have to say. 你最好听听他们有什么话要说。

2　hear 可用于下列结构：

hear+that 从句

hear+宾语+不定式 （表示听见某个动作的过程或完成 ）

hear+宾语+现在分词 （表示听见某个动作正在进行 ）

I hear that he lives with his mother. 我听说他同母亲住在一起。

I hear him read English every morning. 我每天早晨都听见他读英语 。

I hear him reading English in the room. 我听见他正在房间里读英语 。

提示

see, watch等后用不定式或分词作宾语补足语时也都有这种区别。

hear 还常同介词连用，构成固定短语，主要有：hear of/ about 听说过（某人或某事）

hear from 收到……的来信 （相当于get a letter from）

I don't know the teacher, but I have heard of him. 我不认识这位老师，但是我听说过他。

I have never heard of the name. 我从没听说过这个名字。

I heard about it last week. 我是上周听说这件事的。

I haven't heard from her for a month. 我1个月没收到她的信了。

How often does he hear from his son? 他隔多长时间收到他儿子的来信？

4　sound 作动词时表示“听上去，听起来”，通常用作系动词，后接形容词。

His voice sounds strange. 他的声音听起来很奇怪。

The plan sounds interesting. 这个计划听起来很有趣。
