瑞典设立新奖项替代诺贝尔文学奖

107 Swedish intellectuals, including authors, artistsand journalists, have joined forces to form a newprize-giving body in protest after the SwedishAcademy was plunged into sex scandal.

近日，包括作家、艺术家和记者在内的107名瑞典知识分子参与到成立一个全新颁奖机构的队伍中，抗议瑞典文学院陷入性丑闻。

The new literature award, which carries a prize ofaround $113,000, will be handed out at a Dec 10 ceremony.

此项新文学奖将在12月10日的典礼上揭幕，奖金约为11.3万美元。

The winner, who may come from anywhere in the world and must have published at least oneliterary work in the last 10 years, will be announced on Oct 14.

参选者不限国籍，须在过去十年里至少出版过一部文学作品，获奖者将于10月14日揭晓。

 

But some observers are skeptical about whether the New Academy can compare with the Nobel Literature Prize's history of recognizing distinguished author like Ernest Hemingway.

不过一些观察人士怀疑，新文学奖能否与曾甄选出欧内斯特·海明威这样优秀作家的诺贝尔文学奖媲美。

Others are indifferent to the initiative. "They're free to do as they wish," Swedish Academymember Per Wastberg told AFP.

另一些人则对这一奖项反应冷淡。瑞典文学院会员佩尔·韦斯特伯格向法新社透露：“他们可以按照自己的意愿自由行动。”
