韩国现两例'德尔塔+'病例

South Korea has detected its first two cases of the new Delta Plus COVID-19 variant, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Tuesday, as the country battles with its fourth wave of infections.

8月3日，韩国疾病管理厅通报称，在该国第四波疫情中首次发现了两例感染"德尔塔+"变异毒株的病例。

The Delta Plus variant is a sub-lineage of the Delta variant, and has acquired the spike protein mutation called K417N, which also is found in the Beta variant.

"德尔塔+"是德尔塔变异毒株的变种，"德尔塔+"的刺突蛋白出现了K417N突变，K417N突变也存在于贝塔毒株中。

Reports of Delta Plus cases have been few, and a handful of countries, including Britain, Portugal and India, have reported some cases.

Some scientists have said the Delta Plus variant may be even more transmissible.
