As is depicted in the picture, reading books containing other people’s wisdom and knowledge helps us shape our thinking. It shows how valuable reading is. 1

It is widely acknowledged that books present the precious accumulation of wisdom and knowledge beyond the limitation of space and time, just as the old Chinese saying goes, “To open a book is always beneficial.” 2

First of all 3 , reading can enrich our mind and shape our thoughts. When we read, we are stimulated to use our brain to explore knowledge in the book. We learn to look beyond our surroundings to some places out of our experience in the world.
