South African World Cup mascot is  a peculiar Leopard to Africa .and the Leopard, named Zakumi. at first glance, it was deeply impressed besides its implied meaning。

Unlike the traditional sense of Leopard, Zakumi has amiable appearance. He felt like the  last Germany World Cup mascot lion  " Pille". Pille is naked, wearing a German men' s  white uniforms, while Zakou  wear  T shirts with words the  South Africa World Cup and the men' s South Africa is the green shorts.

南非世界杯吉祥物是一头非洲特有的猎豹，名叫扎库米。不说这头猎豹其名其姓寓意如何，乍一看亮相，就印象深刻。

不同于传统意义上的猎豹，扎库米的长相和蔼可亲，毫无凶相。感觉他就像上届德国世界杯的吉祥物狮子皮乐。皮乐下身裸体，上身穿着德国男足的白色队服，而扎库米上身穿着印有南非世界杯字样的T恤，下身套上的则是南非男足的绿色短裤。

世界杯吉祥物诞生于1966年，用动物为原型设计吉祥物已成为某种主流。最近三届世界杯，动物无疑成了主角，除了德国的狮子皮乐，法国世界杯的吉祥物是一头公鸡，名叫Footix，之前的美国世界杯，吉祥物是一头奔跑中踢着球的小狗，名叫Strik。其实早在头一届运用吉祥物的英格兰世界杯上，狮子威利的形象就已深入人心。

用动物做吉祥物，既生动又形象，而且老少咸宜，没有特别的年龄界限。关键是球迷记得牢，不会一下子对吉祥物失去记忆——当年的北京亚运会就是明证，熊猫盼盼的形象红遍全中国，动物通人性，这一点，在吉祥物身上颇有验证。
