The 47-year-old actress's trophy honoured her for her impact through motion pictures,

having made history as the first African-American woman to win the Best Actress Oscar – for her performance in Monster’s Ball.

‘The Chinese love movies, and American films are a major part of the Chinese cinematic explosion,’ Don Mischer, who produced the show, told the Hollywood Reporter.
