This is because more and more of our connections are being made online, in short passages of writing, where the ability to reach deeper levels of intimacy is somewhat compromised.

While the list of available emojis continues to grow, one clever young technical student from Nantes, France, has invented a bot that provides us with an ongoing supply of hybrids and mashups, capturing every conceivable emotional nuance a human being could possibly express. The Emoji Mashup Bot creates new emojis out of two (or three) random emojis every hour, leading to some handy, some useless, and some absolutely hilarious examples!
