一、形容词的位置

（一）形容词通常用在名词的前面，起修饰名词的作用（形容词+名词）

Andy is a clever student.安迪是位聪明的学生。

Look at those black clouds.It's going to rain.看那些乌云，要下雨了。

Whose are the blue shoes？Mum's.蓝色的鞋子是谁的？妈妈的。

My maths teacher doesn't speak any foreign languages.我的数学老师不会说任何外国语言。

（二）形容词可以放在be（am，is are）动词之后，作表语用来叙述、说明主语。（am/is/are/was/were+形容词）

I'm thirsty .Can I have something to drink？我渴了，能喝些东西吗？

Danny is short and fat .丹尼又矮又胖。

Are you cold ？Shall I close the door？你冷吗？需要我关门吗？

Sh，be quiet .The teacher is coming.嘘，安静，老师过来了。

（三）当形容词修饰不定代词something，anybody，nothing时，放在不定代词后面（something/anybody/nothing+形容词）

There's something wrong with the bicycle.自行车有些问题。

Is there anything cheap in the supermarket？超市里有便宜的东西吗？

—What's the matter？—It's nothing important .发生什么事了？没什么重要的事。

（四）当形容词修饰的名词前面还有冠词（a，an，the）、代词（my，this，that等）或数词等修饰，它们的顺序是：冠词/代词/数词+形容词+名词

This is my favorite book.这是我最喜欢的书。

That's her new skirt.那是她的新裙子。

Those tall boys are in Class One.那些高个子男孩是一班的。

（五）当两个或两个以上的形容词修饰一个名词时，通常与被修饰的名词关系更密切、描述更具体的形容词靠被修饰的名词更近些。具体地说，其排列顺序是：

限定词➡描绘性形容词➡大小➡形状➡年龄➡颜色➡国籍➡材料

a big greedy bug 一只大的贪吃的虫

an old friendly teacher 一位善良的老教师

a nice quiet afternoon 一个美好的安静的下午

two little fat white cats 两只又白又肥的小猫

Tips：

表示“度量衡”的形容词，往往放在所修饰名词之后。

twenty feet broad 20英尺宽

six feet deep 六英尺深

seven meters long 七米长

thirty meters high 三十米高

five years old 五岁
