The army in Madagascar has stormed a military camp near the island's international airport following a mutiny by other soldiers. It said the situation was now under control. Karen Allen reports from Johannesburg.

Eyewitnesses report an exchange of small arms fire and explosions coming from inside the military camp situated close to the main airport. A wounded rebel soldier who emerged from the barracks confirmed there had been clashes between the army and mutinying soldiers.
