William H. Macy has some fatherly advice for his former on-screen son Jeremy Allen White.

The Magnolia actor spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the Iron Claw star, who played his son on Shameless for 11 seasons between 2011 and 2021. "He's got a huge career. I'm really proud of him," Macy told the outlet. "I'm such a fan of The Bear, and now he's on billboards in his underwear."

Macy joked that he’d given White a talking-to about his buzzy Calvin Klein ad campaign. "I had to speak to him about that. You know, as his father," Macy said, adding that he told his former costar to "put your pants on."

However, Macy also recognizes that this isn’t the first time White has been spotted with his trousers down. “Although... we did Shameless together, so he had his pants off a good amount [on that]," the actor said, referring to the Showtime series’ frequent on-screen nudity and explicit content.
