Debbie isonly fourteen years old and she hopes lo set up anew world record. She is a strong swimmer andmany people feel that she is sure to succeed.Debbie's father will set out with her in a smallboat. Mr Hart has trained his daughter for years.Tomorrow he will be watching her anxiously as sheswims the long distance to England. Debbie intendsto take short rests every two hours. She will have something to drink but she will not eat anysolid food. Most of Debbie's school friends will be waiting for her on the English coast. Amongthem will be Debbie's mother, who swam the Channel herself when she was a girl.

语言点1 feel的用法举例：
He seems to feel a bit down today. 他今天好像感到情绪不佳。
I just don’t feel like myself today. 今天我感到身体有些不太舒服。
I feel for him in his troubles. 我对他的困境很同情。
语言点2 比较学习：succeed, prosper, flourish
1) succeed指在某项活动或事业中获得理想的结果。
2) prosper侧重经济上的成功或赚了大钱，如：
Mr. Buffet prospered from his wise share investments.
巴菲特先生由于明智的股票投资赚了不少钱。
3) flourish指形势大好，处于兴旺发达时期，如：
Our great motherland is flourishing with each passing day.
我们伟大的祖国蒸蒸日上。
5、Debbie's father will set out with her in a small boat.
黛比的父亲将乘一条小船和她一道出发。
语言点 with her in a small boat在句中作状语。
6、Mr. Hart has trained his daughter for years.
哈特先生训练他的女儿已经多年了。
语言点 has trained现在完成时与for years搭配使用。
