中国空间站核心舱首次公开亮相

A full-size model of the core module of China's space station, Tianhe, made its debut last Tuesday at the 12th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China) in Zhuhai, Guangdong province.

The main purpose of the core module is the unified control and management of the station.

该核心舱主要用于对空间站的统一控制和管理。

It will have autonomous flight capability, supportthe astronauts' long-time stay in outer space and help them conduct experiments concerningaerospace medicine and space science.

它具备自主飞行能力，能够支持宇航员长时间驻留外太空，并帮助他们开展航天医学和空间科学实验。

The space station will consist of a core module and two experimental modules, each weighing about 20 tons. It will accommodate three to six astronauts.

我国空间站将由一个核心舱和两个实验舱组成，每个舱段重约20吨，可容纳3-6名宇航员。

The designed lifespan of the space station is no less than 10 years, which can be extended by maintenance and repair work.

The in-orbit construction of the space station is expected to be completed around 2022. It will be the country's space lab in long-term, stable, in-orbit operation.
