Calling all music enthusiasts and wannabe rockstars - the world's first Guitar Hotel is on the horizon.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is set to open on October 24 in Hollywood, South Florida. The Hard Rock property reportedly cost US$1.5 billion (NZ$2.3 billion) to create.

According to CNN, the guitar-shaped getaway is part of a larger US$2.2 billion expansion project, including a second Florida Hard Rock Hotel & Casino located in Tampa.

The 450-foot-tall rockstar resort is officially taking online reservations from July 24, and tickets to the grand opening (featuring a headlining performance by Maroon 5) are available to purchase now.

The glass Guitar Hotel boasts 638 guestrooms, suites, and "overwater cabanas". According to the hotel's official website, the architecture is designed to resemble back-to-back guitars, complete with light-up strings.

As with any other Hard Rock venue, music is an integral part of its brand and identity. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino features "the Oculus" - a free sound, light, water and choreography show for visitors to enjoy.

Hard Rock Live, a 6500-seat concert venue, is set to be part of the hotel and casino's expansion. The arena-like room plans to host approximately 100 concerts annually, but also expects to accommodate sporting events, theatre and possibly award shows, reports CNN.

Guests to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel will have an entire "retail corridor", day pool, nightclub and man-made lagoon (complete with paddle boats) at their disposal, and foodies will be sure to find a favourite among the property's numerous restaurants and bars.

At a press event in New York, Hard Rock International chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen said the 47-year-old brand "represents more than food, beverage and a place to stay".
