Li Qiang said that 45 years ago, the older generation of leaders and politicians of the two countries made a strategic decision to conclude a treaty of peace and friendship between China and Japan. The treaty has established in legal form the general direction of peaceful coexistence and lasting friendship between the two neighboring countries and emphasized the opposition to hegemonism, becoming an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations. Over the past 45 years, China-Japan relations have made hard-won achievements, improved the well-being of the two peoples and contributed to peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

李强表示，45年前，两国老一辈领导人和政治家作出缔结中日和平友好条约的战略决断。条约以法律形式为中日这两个邻国确立了和平共处、世代友好的大方向，强调反对霸权主义，成为两国关系发展进程中的重要里程碑。45年来，中日关系取得了来之不易的发展成果，增进了两国人民福祉，也为地区乃至世界的和平、稳定与繁荣作出积极贡献。

Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to work with Japan to review the spirit of the treaty, firmly grasp the right direction of the development of bilateral relations, and commit to building China-Japan relations that meet the requirements of the new era.

李强指出，中方愿同日方一道，重温缔约精神，牢牢把握两国关系正确发展方向，致力于构建契合新时代要求的中日关系。

Kishida Fumio said that the Treaty of Peace and friendship between Japan and China clearly includes the development of lasting peaceful and friendly relations between the two countries.
