The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), issued a statement on November 3 local time that it launched a raid on an Israel Defense Forces unit in the northwest area of Beit Lahiya in the Gaza Strip, killing four Israeli soldiers.

Four more IDF soldiers were killed in clashes in the northern Gaza Strip, an IDF spokesman said early Wednesday. Twenty-three IDF soldiers have died since Israel launched its ground military operation.
