3 THE ECHOING GREEN	三荡着回声的草地

The Sun does arise,	太阳升起，
And make happy the skies;	满天欢喜;
The merry bells ring	快乐的钟声敲响，
To welcome the Spring;	迎接春光;
The skylark and thrush,	云雀和画眉，
The birds of the bush,	林中的鸟类，
Sing louder around	围着快乐的钟响
To the bells' cheerful sound,	唱得更加嘹亮，
While our sports shall be seen	这时候我们游戏
On the echoing Green.	在荡着回声的草地。
Old John, with white hair,	老约翰，白发满头，
Does laugh away care,	笑着赶走了忧愁，
Sitting under the oak	坐在橡树下面
Among the old folk.	老人们中间。
They laugh at our play,	他们笑看我们玩耍，
And soon they all say:	他们都这样说话：
"Such, such were the joys	"当我们还是男孩女孩，
When we all, girls and boys,	欢度童年时代，
In our youth-time were seen	我们也这样游戏
On the echoing Green.	在荡着回声的草地。"
Till the little ones, weary,	孩子们乏了，
No more can be merry;	再不能玩耍了;太阳落山，
The Sun does descend,	我们停止了游玩。
And our sports have an end.	多少小妹妹小弟弟
Round the laps of their mothers	绕着妈妈的双膝，
Many sisters and brothers,	像小鸟归巢，
Like birds in their nest,	准备睡觉。
Are ready for rest,	再不见孩子们游戏
And sport no more seen	在越来越暗的草地。
