iii. 不定式、动名词、分词作表语

1. 不定式、动名词作表语相当于名词，主语和表语是对等关系，位置可颠倒。分词作表语相当于形容词，说明主语的性质、状态，是从属于主语的，主表位置不能颠倒。

Her job is taking care of the children.

她的工作是照料孩子。

Our duty is to train these students.

我们的职责是训练这些学生。

His report is very interesting .

他的报告很有趣。

I am pleased at the news.

我很高兴听到这个消息。

2. 不定式、动名词作表语比较：不定式作表语往往表示将来的行为；动名词作表语不受时间的限制。

My idea is to go there this morning.

我的想法是今天早上去那里。

Their work is producing TV sets .

他们的工作是生产电视机。

3. 动名词作表语时主语往往是抽象名词work, job, aim, duty, habit, news, task, wish, pleasure, idea, hope等，表语进一步说明主语的具体内容。

My hobby is sleeping .

我的业余爱好是睡觉。

My aim is being a university student .

我的目标是成为一名大学生。

4. 分词作表语时其逻辑主语就是整个句子的主语，其区别在于：

1）现在分词作表语时主语多是物，表语用来说明主语的性质，特征，意为“令人……的”

The film is quite moving .

这部电影很感人。

The news is surprising .

这个消息很令人吃惊。

2）过去分词作表语时主语多是人，表语多表示主语所处的状态：

She looked disappointed .

她看上去很失望。

We were all moved at his words.

我们都对他的话很感动。

3）注意这些词的过去分词与现在分词在意义上的不同：interest, move, worry, please, disappoint,　surprise, astonish, excite, touch, frighten。

I was interested in the interesting stories.

我对这些有趣的故事很感兴趣。
