1. go broke ** 一无所有,破产

解 习语;词义溯源:成为[身无分文的、破产的(broke)]状态

例 When Hank worked for me, he was the kind of guy who would get paid one day, spend the night out on the town that night and then have no money the very next day. So I'm not surprised the least that his company has gone broke.

2. go cold turkey * 短时间内果断戒掉(坏习惯)

解 俚语;词义溯源:进行[没有药物治疗的突然戒毒(cold turkey)];原指戒除毒瘾,现在通用于戒掉任何坏习惯
