Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

（4）是否所有学生无一例外地都应该被要求阅读“想象文学”？如果是，请你说说为什么？如果不是，请你说说哪些人是必须阅读的，哪些人不是必须的？例如：如果是对文学或编剧感兴趣的学生，阅读“想象文学”对他们有益；而那些根本不感兴趣，之前从未接触过并且想象力没那么丰富的学生即使学了也未必能有收获。

（5）大学的作用是什么？要求大学生阅读这类文学作品是否冲淡了大学原本的作用？你能简要地说说大学的作用与其培养专才还是通才之间的联系吗？

学生的未来不仅在于他们的专业能力，而且在于他们的情绪能力。因此除了教授知识，大学在为学生将来做准备方面起到的最重要的作用，就是帮助他们培养诸如理解并控制情绪等能力，以便促成高水平的合作，经得起失败和挫折，能调节压力以维持身体和心理的健康等（参考句型 cultivate such abilities as to..., to..., to...）。这些能力能够在学生们阅读小说、诗歌、神话等“不实用的”书籍的过程中建立起来。
