I Was Inspired By How Other Artists Reimagined Disney Princesses, So I Decided To Illustrate Soviet Princesses

A few months ago, I got inspired by illustrations of Disney princesses made by several famous artists. I decided to start my own project about princesses from my native country. I think it is because I've been living abroad for so many years and I start to miss my own culture. All my illustrations depict princesses from famous Soviet animated films that are based on fairy tales, such as “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen or “The Bremen Town Musicians" by the Brothers Grimm.

几个月前，我从几位著名艺术家绘制的迪士尼公主的插图中得到了灵感。我决定开始我自己的项目，关于我的祖国的公主。我想这是因为我在国外生活了这么多年，开始想念自己的文化。我的所有插图都是根据童话故事改编的前苏联著名动画电影中的公主形象，比如汉斯·克里斯蒂安·安徒生的《白雪皇后》和格林兄弟的《不来梅音乐家》。

The aim of this project is not to create a better version, but to show the beauty of Russian culture in my own vision and style. Every kid from my generation remembers these animations from childhood. I believe that all these beautiful and kind stories make us better!

这个项目的目的不是创造一个更好的版本，而是用我自己的眼光和风格来展现俄罗斯文化的美。我们这一代的每个孩子都记得这些动画片。我相信所有这些美丽和善良的故事让我们变得更好!
