“I will try.”不是“我尽力试试”！这样回答老板并不满意

当有人回复你这么说时，

他们实际上是在告诉你：

他们不会这么做。

许多爱说I'll try的人认为，

他们只是在忠于事实，

通过一种不直接否定的形式。

比方说，某人要求你四点起床

你说“Ok, I ' ll try”

那么你真的能在四点起来吗?

你可能会设一个四点钟的闹铃，

或者告诉你的爸爸妈妈让他们四点叫醒你，

这就是你的尝试，

但是你并没有向对方保证你一定会在四点起床

People want predictability. People want commitment. People want you to do what you say – be it at an individual level or as an institution. You don’t fix yourself with a flight operator who says that “Ok, I’ll try to take off the flight by 4am”, you want one who will!

人们想要可预测性。人们想要承诺。人们希望你按照你说的去做无论是个人层面还是机构层面。你不会接受一个航空公司的接线员说：“好的，我尽量在凌晨4点前起飞”，你想找一个肯定“会”起飞的航班。

People who say "I will try" have given themselves permission to fail. No matter what happens, they can always claim that they "tried."

那些说“我会试试”的人是在允许自己失败。不管发生什么，他们都可以声称自己尝试过。

People who really and truly achieve goals never say "I will try."

真正能实现目标的人从来不会说“I will try”。

Instead, they always say "I will do" something-or, better yet, "I must do" whatever the task is.

相反，他们总是说我会做什么——或者，更好的是，我必须做，无论是什么任务。
