［译］与智慧者同行，必得智慧；和愚昧人做伴，必受亏损。

［注解］company意指做伴，同行。同义的表达有：Who keeps company with the wolves, will learn to howl. 与狼结交，必学狼嗥。

［注解］thyself指yourself，“自己”。这是古希腊阿波罗神庙中告诫世人的一条神谕。意指人应该了解自己的才智能力、能胜任的工作及自己的性格爱好等，并能按照自身的这些特点去发展自己。如能不折不扣遵照此古谚去做，人就会心悦诚服地克服自己的私心，放弃一切不应有的权利和要求。
